I Children of the Damned nascono nel 2001 e si esibiscono da allora unicamente come tribute band agli Iron Maiden.
L’immensa e sincera passione è la carta vincente di questa longeva band che negli anni si è creata un nutrito seguito di fan in Italia ed Europa con oltre 500 concerti all’attivo.
Oltre ad esibirsi in ogni angolo d’Italia, i COTD hanno portato il loro show in Europa, più precisamente in Svizzera, Francia, Spagna, Portogallo, Austria, Germania, Croazia, Grecia, Inghilterra, Polonia, Slovenia, Svezia, Olanda, Belgio, Finlandia e Turchia, partecipando a prestigiosi Festival internazionali.
Questo sia in veste di tributo, sia accompagnando il mitico Paul Di’Anno, primo leggendario cantante degli Iron Maiden, che dal 2003 li ha scelti come sua band ufficiale italiana e prima europea per numero di esibizioni: i COTD sono in assoluto la formazione con la quale Paul ha suonato più a lungo in tutta la sua carriera (periodo Maiden compreso!).

Il repertorio attraversa per intero la grande discografia della band inglese, dai classici, alle rarità per veri “intenditori”, giungendo infine ai brani di recente composizione.
I Children of the Damned utilizzano le intro originali dei Maiden ed alcune sequenze di tastiere per ricreare al meglio le atmosfere di capolavori quali 7th Son Of A 7th Son, Infinite Dreams, The Evil That Man Do, Moonchild, e altre.
Particolarmente curata è poi la scenografia: striscioni, bandiere e sfondi che riproducono alla perfezione gli stessi utilizzati dagli originali nei loro tour più famosi assieme ad un abbigliamento Maiden-style il più accurato possibile

Alcuni highlights degni di nota:

-“Gods of Tribute 2002” in qualità di MIGLIOR TRIBUTO ITALIANO ed in veste di headliner al Palavobis di Milano (prima esibizione con Paul Di’Anno)

– “1st Iron Maiden Day” al RUSKIN ARMS DI LONDRA (UNICA TRIBUTE BAND ITALIANA AMMESSA ALLO STORICO LOCALE LONDINESE CHE LANCIO’ GLI STESSI IRON MAIDEN ALLA FINE DEGLI ANNI 70), evento di risonanza mondiale in cui i COTD hanno avuto l’onore di suonare con Mr Doug Hall al mixer (il fonico ufficiale dei Maiden), di conoscere il mitico Clive Burr (primo batterista dei Maiden) e nel quale si sono esibiti a sorpresa con Mr Paul Di’Anno. Un’evento INDIMENTICABILE (Dicembre 2002)

– “Heineken Jammin’ Festival 2003″ di Imola nello stesso giorno del concerto degli IRON MAIDEN (!!!)

– “Bikers Festival” di Faro – Portogallo (il più grande d’Europa) , per 2 edizioni: nel 2004 con Paul di’ Anno e nel 2008 ( di spalla agli storici EUROPE) in veste di tributo, esibendosi di fronte a 30.000 fans ed anticipando di fatto lo show dei veri IRON MAIDEN che hanno suonato su quello stesso palco nel 2011

– “Rock the Nations Festival” (2004) di Istanbul , di fronte a 3.000 fans, accompagnando il duetto (prima volta nella storia!) dei 2 ex cantanti degli Iron Maiden (Blaze Bayley & Paul Di’Anno)

– Bikerfest” di Sutrio , 19° e 21° edizione, il più grande motoraduno italiano, headliners in occasione della Night of the Guitars con ospiti del calibro di ANDREA BRAIDO ed ULI JON ROTH ex SCORPIONS (luglio 2005 e luglio 2007)

– “Maniacs of Rock Festival” (2 edizioni nel 2006 e 2008) Aalen, Germania headliners davanti ad oltre 2000 scatenatissimi fans tedeschi!

– “Leyendas del Rock Festival” di Murcia, SPAGNA, (4.000 fans) dove i COTD hanno avuto l’onore di dividere il palco con i grandi SEPULTURA (2007)

– “Hard Rock Hell IV Festival”, 2010, famosissimo festival metal inglese, sold out (5000 fans), dividendo il palco con : HELLOWEEN, SAXON, MSG, e molti altri

– “Running Free Again Tour”, 2011, 10 date consecutive in 10 giorni (Spagna e Portogallo)

– “Machete Festival”, 2013, in Liguria, dove per la prima volta si sono esibiti in una lunga setlist di 2 ore e mezza accompagnando entrambi gli ex-singer dei Maiden: Paul di’Anno e Blaze Bayley (prima ed unica volta nella storia in Italia)

Dal 2017 hanno iniziato una collaborazione con Dennis Stratton, primo storico chitarrista degli Iron Maiden, diventando di fatto l’unica band italiana che ha lavorato con tutti gli ex membri della formazione inglese.

I COTD sono promossi e riconosciuti dal fan club italiano degli IRON MAIDEN.

The Children of the Damned (COTD) were born in 2001 as a tribute band to the legendary Iron Maiden.
The strong passion of the 5 members is one of the finest qualities of the band, and has created, over the years,
a dedicated following of fans in both in Italy and abroad. As well as performing in every corner of Italy,
COTD have played in front of thousands of fans throughout Europe, playing gigs and festivals in countries such as Switzerland, France, Spain, Portugal, Austria, Germany, Croatia, Czech Republic, Greece, England, Poland, Slovenia, Sweden, Finland and as far as Turkey.

In 2003 the great Paul Di Anno, the first Iron Maiden lead singer chose COTD to be his official Italian band
and he still sings with the band. COTD are still the leading European Iron Maiden tribute band.

COTD’s repertoire covers the whole thirty year long career of the English band and includes both Iron Maiden’s classics
and those songs that haven’t been performed live for a very long time if ever.
The band’s preparation is extremely detailed and accurate: COTD use the intros of the original songs and take great care for
scenography: banners, flags, a papier-mâché Eddie, and Iron Maiden-style clothes.

– ‘GODS OF TRIBUTES’ HEADLINERS as BEST ITALIAN IRON MAIDEN TRIBUTE BAND at Palavobis, Milan, (June 2002) ;
– ‘1ST IRON MAIDEN DAY’ at RUSKIN ARMS, LONDON: THE ONLY ITALIAN BAND ADMITTED TO THE LEGENDARY LONDON CLUB THAT LAUNCHED
IRON MAIDEN AT THE END OF THE 1970’s (December 2002);
– ‘HEINEKEN JAMMING FESTIVAL 2003’ in Imola, the same day of the concert of Iron Maiden themselves (June 2003);
– ‘MARCON FESTIVAL 2004’, in Venice, as headliners, with an audience of 3,000 people; a festival that is one
of the most important in Italy;
– MANIACS OF ROCK 2006 and MANIACS OF ROCK 2008, GERMANY, as headliners, with an audience of 2,000 crazy German fans;
– BIKERS FESTIVAL 2 performances in front of 30,000 fans, in the occasion of the in Faro, Portugal (the biggest in Europe),
in July 2004 (with PAUL DI’ANNO) and July 2009 ( as Iron Maiden tribute);
– “ROCK THE NATIONS “a performance in Istanbul, Turkey, in the occasion of the festival (3,000 fans), accompanying the
FIRST and ONLY duet of the two former Iron Maiden singers (Blaze Bayley & Paul DiAnno), in July 2004.
– “LEYENDAS DEL ROCK”a performance at Festival in Spain, in front of over 4,000 fans, where COTD had the honour of
sharing the stage with SEPULTURA, in July 2007.
– “HARD ROCK HELL IV” festival, December 2010, sharing the stage with SAXON, MSB, HELLOWEEN and many others
– “RUNNING FREE AGAIN” tour 2011 with 10 days tour in Spain/Portugal, in October/November 2011
“MACHETE FEST” Savona, 2013, performing with PAUL DI’ANNO & BLAZE BAYLEY together (for the very first time in Italy)

In addition, COTD are acknowledged, supported and promoted by the IRON MAIDEN Italian Fan Club, with which they actively collaborate.
